This is the second family of such ideal Costas arrays. These new Costas arrays are useful for designing multiple Costas waveforms with small cross-ambiguities, if the potential Doppler shifts are restricted to a small portion of the waveform bandwidth. (2) Two new truncated Costas optical orthogonal codes (TC OOC) are constructed by applying a general construction to the ideal Costas arrays. Compared with the know TC OOC, the second new TC OOC has the best correlation property, while the new TC OOCs have almost the same probability of error and the NUMBER of maximum simultaneous users as that of the original TC OOC. Many general results are also presented including general constructions for OOCs and general correlation analysis of Costas arrays. Cyclical hit arrays give insight into previously unknown properties of several sets of NUMBER theoretic frequency-hop patterns, based on Welch-Costas and quadratic congruence codes. Three theorems related to cyclical hit arrays are proved. The theorems are used to determine exact probability distribution functions of random variables which represent the NUMBER of coincidences between two arbitrary patterns from the same set of codes. The NUMBER of coincidences expresses interference levels between two users of code-division multiple-access (CDMA) systems which utilize the considered patterns.
